In accomplishing the purpose, mission and vision, it is the philosophy of Camp Bighorn to emphasize relationships. Knowing that the Gospel of Jesus Christ speaks to people and not to facilities or programs, three main strengths within the camping program are used: Discipleship, Small Groups, and Changed Environments.

CAMP BIGHORN’S VISION

To embody the love of Jesus and develop Christ-honoring leaders

BRIEF HISTORY OF HOW CAMP BIGHORN GOT STARTED AND WHY IT EXISTS

Camp Bighorn was founded in 1985 by Converge Northwest, a movement of churches working to help people meet, know, and follow Jesus. The following statements are built on a long history of discipleship, providing clarity and guidance for all activities at Camp Bighorn with the goal that life-changing adventures will continue here for generations to come.

WHAT MAKES A SUCCESSFUL WILDERNESS ADVENTURE TRIP?

A successful trip includes stepping into the challenge, learning something new about ourselves or others, and spending time reflecting on our experience. We also take time to do evaluations and give feedback on skill development and group engagement.
