SEQUOIA BRIGADE CAMP’S VISION
“Discipleship, Evangelism, Christian Maturity. Serving Men and Youth since 1961.”
BRIEF HISTORY OF HOW SEQUOIA BRIGADE CAMP GOT STARTED AND WHY IT EXISTS
Sequoia Brigade Camp, since it’s start in 1961, has been a “non-propertied” camp. That is, we run camps and trips, but own no facilities. Since it’s start, SBC has been closely associated with Christian Service Brigade, a men’s ministry in the local church which brings today’s man into a discipling relationship with the next generation of men (i.e. boys). The camping ministry of SBC helps facilitate that relationship. However, no involvement with CSB or a church is necessary for campers. Residential camps are provided for younger boys, fathers & sons, and fathers & daughters. Adventure Trips (Backpacking, Sailing, Mtn Biking, White Water Canoeing, Aviation, Scuba Diving)challenge Jr High and High School youth. All camps are purposefully small, with a maximum 4 to one ratio of camper to counselor.
