OUTFITTERS FOR CHRIST’S MISSION
Outfitters for Christ (OFC) delivers outdoor adventure and mentorship programs that reach across demographic and generational boundaries to fill the void of discipleship in our society. Our programs are for families and individuals of all ages, with the specific design of promoting Christ-centered development in family and relationships, leadership and work, values and ethics.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF HOW OUTFITTERS FOR CHRIST GOT STARTED AND WHY IT EXISTS
OFC operates its ministry at the Fish & Cross Ranch (F&CR) in Yampa, Colorado – a 100-year old, working cattle ranch, deeply rooted in the cowboy way of life and the beauty of the West. The ranch owns 4,040 private acres and leases 16,000 acres for livestock operations. Additionally, F&CR operates an 80,000 acre USFS lease, offering world class hunting, fishing and horseback riding. F&CR is family-owned and operated, and dedicated to the purpose of bringing and keeping families together. After purchasing the property in 2006, the owners set out to establish a not-for-profit charity at the ranch, wholly focused on promoting the preservation of a Christian and Family Heritage.
The OFC “Life Journey” curriculum has been developed over the last five years through cooperation with churches and Christian organizations at youth camps, focus groups and retreats held at the ranch, as well as long-term discipleship programs.
