Campfire Questions for Summer Camp & Family Campouts

I look forward to summer all year long because it means more camping around a campfire. Campfires are a great tool to gather people and get to know them better. Whether you are leading at a summer camp or taking out your youth group or your family on a campout this summer, one of the best ways to spend time together is around a campfire.

JESUS LOVED CAMPFIRES TOO

Even Jesus knew the value of a campfire with his disciples. Listen to this story that happened after Jesus told his disciples where to go to catch a bunch of fish:

He said, ‘Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.’When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord!’ As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, ‘It is the Lord,’ he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards. When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. (John 21:6-9)

So this summer when you sit around some burning coals, try out a few of these questions to deepen your relationship with those who are warming themselves by your fire:
