Title: Web Developer

Description:

Goal

The Web Developer works with the Information Technology Manager to maintain and develop SROM’s website. The Web Developer will also assist with basic system and network administration.

Summary

This is a dynamic, multifaceted role focusing primarily on the maintenance and improvement of the SROM website by planning and implementing web based solutions for office needs. This role will, at times, require working closely with other office staff to identify needs and develop solutions. Those with software development experience who do not know, but are willing to learn, PHP, Javascript, SQL, and HTML are encouraged to apply. Training will also be provided for auxiliary responsibilities including, but not limited to, webserver administration, windows domain administration, network administration, and Google Analytics implementation.

Responsibilities

Reports to: Information Technology Manager

  • Maintenance and improvement of the SROM website
  • Webserver administration
  • Local network administration
  • Computer maintenance
  • Phone system maintenance, changes, etc.
  • Trouble-shoot technology problems as they arise

Seasonal/Year-Around: Year-Around

Full time or Part Time: Full Time

Start Date: ASAP

Type of Position: Paid (But person will need to raise part or all of their financial support)

Minimum Age: 18

College Degree Req’d: Yes

Required Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience programming in PHP, Javascript, SQL, and/or HTML
  • Experience with WordPress development: themes and plugins
  • Basic understanding of the software development process
  • Enjoys solving challenging problems
  • Good organization; detail oriented
  • Works well independently and as a team
  • Self-motivated
  • Can complete tasks with little supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Webserver Administration (e.g., Linux, SFTP, SSH, Apache, MariaDB, PHP, WHM, Apache Traffic Server, Varnish)
  • Windows Domain Administration (e.g., Windows Server 2008, Active Directory, File Services, NPS (policy), Print, WSUS (update), command line, workstation troubleshooting)
  • Network Administration (e.g., UTM (PFSense – Firewall, DHCP, DNS Forwarding, Proxy, Proxy Filter, VPN,), UniFi Wireless, Managed Switch, UPS)
  • Experience with Google Analytics
