ROCKSIDE RANCH’S MISSION
Equipping youth for life.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF ROCKSIDE RANCH AND WHY THEY EXIST
Rockside Ranch began in 2011 on a family farm in Northern California. All of their staff have previous experience with Christian camping, the California Conservation Corps, and youth ministry. They used the ranch as a venue where they could use that experience to train practical job and life skills to at-risk youth. That is done through 5-8 month residential apprenticeship programs on the farm. On the weekends, apprentices venture off into the wilderness to experience all that our area has to offer. By the end of their apprenticeship, they will have spent roughly 28 days in the backcountry or at National Parks.
HOW ROCKSIDE RANCH INTRODUCES PEOPLE TO CHRIST AND HELPS THEM GROW IN THEIR FAITH
Rockside Ranch offers life-changing apprenticeships to young men overcoming adversity. They train and equip apprentices to become devoted to their family, leaders in their workplace, and positive, productive members of society. Ranch staff model a relationship with Jesus and share the Gospel daily through conversations, reading, and studying God’s Word. Apprentices focus on spiritual, relational, personal, professional, and leadership areas of their life.
WHAT A SUCCESSFUL WILDERNESS TRIP LOOKS LIKE
Success in the backcountry means that all participants were kept safe and given the opportunity to experience God in His creation. That participants grew closer to God and each other and that they came away from the experience changed in a positive way.
DURATION OF TRIPS OFFERED
Residency is 5-8 months and apprentices go on wilderness outings ranging from 1 – 5 days.
